Our capital in few sizes and numbers

Number 13 in charts for the biggest and fast-growing capitals in Europe, five gates leads towards the city, surrounded by 4 mountains, with all of 23 districts, and 21 city parks, “Sofia” is city’s name number 5 to the village founded by the tribe called Serdi.  It was April 9th  809 A.C. when Khan Krum, Bulgarian ruler, annex Serdika and for the first time the city becomes part of Bulgaria.

64 is the bus number of 10 city buses that leads your towards to the heart of Vitosha mountain – our favorite green nature area not more then 60 minutes far way from city center with regular transport. During the winter the average snow days are 60, although Winter often “surprises” us.

7th in the chart of economical growth are the cultural and art industries, although there 800 000 people for which culture means just television. But the biggest and most developed cultural infrastructure is here, as well as the many of talented art entrepreneurs, which live to create new culture. You will find them in the calendar section of this site by month, date and hour.
