CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: MEETINGS OF YOUNG EUROPEAN CINEMA FREE PITCHING SESSION AND WORKSHOP FOR SHORT FILMS

The project is part of Sofia’s 2017 Cultural Events Calendar

A FREE PITCHING WORKSHOP WILL BE HELD IN SOFIA BETWEEN 20 – 23 JUNE DURING THE 4TH EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL MEETINGS OF YOUNG EUROPEAN CINEMA.

Six teams (four Bulgarian and two from other European countries) will have the possibility to work on their projects and their presentational skills together with two mentors –one Bulgarian and the other a guest from the European network of young cinema associations Nisi Masa. After the end of the workshop an official pitching session will be held on Friday 23rd June, during which the participants will have the opportunity to pitch their project in front of an international jury of 5 members and an audience. Finally, the Best Pitch Award will be granted to one of the teams. The working language for the workshop and pitching session is English. The venues are the French Institute and Goethe Institute.

HOW DO YOU APPLY?
In order to submit your application successfully, you will need to send the following documents in English:
- CV of the candidate or/and the team (containing examples of previous projects if any)
- Resume of the project (500 characters)
- Short film script
- Director’s explication (maximum 3 500 characters)

The selected participants will be notified within three days after that date.

AWARD
The winner of the Best Pitch, will have the chance to become a guest-observer to the European Short Pitch 2017 – the biggest film forum for production of short films organized by NISI MASA. Costs (airfare and accommodation) are covered by the organizers.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION
The workshop is open to first, second and third short films (up to 30 minutes) by Bulgarian and foreign cinema professionals.
The accommodation of foreign participants is covered by the festival, and travel expenses are covered by the participants.
Up to two persons per team are allowed.
